Hello Everyone! Sadly, I have to miss Coffee Break Fest this year. A number of things came up and I can’t make it. If you get the chance, I highly recommend you go. My sisters and I absolutely LOVE hanging out in the giggleFritz booth, sampling coffee, listening to the music, and strolling through the craft fair and car show. I will really miss it this year, but hope to be back next year.
There, I think I covered it all, LOL! I haven’t stopped by here in a while because…pick an excuse. I’m busy, I have poor time management skills, I keep hurting myself in my quest to stay young…ALL of these things. 😀
What have I been doing? Well, not sewing enough, that’s for sure. Also, nothing very blog-worthy. I keep volunteering to do stuff at our school/church and have been thoroughly enjoying it. We have also been doing end of school stuff for DD. She had her first piano recital last Tuesday evening and that was very inspiring! In between everything I’ve been trying to keep up with housework, meals, errands, etc. You know, life.
Leading up to Easter our church put together a hand bell choir and I was fortunate to join it. I had never played hand bells before, but was assured there was nothing to it. In the beginning, I had one bell. It was easy and fun. At the end, I had two hand bells and two chimes. My friend next to me had four bells the whole time with some hand chimes thrown in at the end. Still fun, but challenging also. It was so much fun getting together once a week and working with those bells and people!
Mother’s Day was so much fun. A few of us got together for brunch at a local restaurant. We don’t usually do a lot for Mother’s Day, but this year I felt like doing something different. My DDs were once again overly generous and gave me some wonderful gifts: flowers (real and artificial), my favorite coffee, cards, etc. Part of my youngest’s gift was a coloring sheet she drew and traced stencils on. I colored it the same day. (For someone who runs a “creative” business, I should really try coloring a bit more creatively! Oh, well. Strapped for time, remember?)
Two weeks ago softball started. I signed up for coed softball at our Church. I haven’t played in 8+ years and I am so happy to be playing again! I’ve had a bit of a rough start so far. During a practice I got pegged in the foot with the ball and at last weeks game I did so much sprinting my legs were screaming for ice packs at the end of the game. I’m doing much better today, though, and am looking forward to another fun/busy week.
What’s up next? In a few weeks, school is out. We get a week off of just being home, then we start our summer schedule with swimming and soccer for DD. She also starts Rubber ball this week. (We are really lucky to be taking swimming lessons. In our area there aren’t enough people who want to be lifeguards, so some pools are going to be closed for summer, or modified in some way to stay open.) We have 5K for Kids run in early June. I’m supposed to plan a family vacation for some time this summer. Coffee Break Fest in August. Lots to do.
I hope Everyone reading this is having a wonderful Monday! 🙂
It’s here! Tomorrow is Coffee Break Fest in Stoughton, WI. The giggleFritz and Co. both will be in the craft fair again this year and we are so excited! Stop by the booth if you can, or stop back to find out how everything went.
Coffee Break Fest is calling and I must go! There’s still much to do today, so I am off!
A few weeks ago I was informed that my application for the Coffee Break Fest 2017 craft fair was accepted!! I am so excited to be part of this event once again! Last year I stayed home because of rain. I have been checking the extended forecast every day and it looks like 79 degrees and partly cloudy.
I have not posted any updates since May 2nd. I have been busy trying to keep up with our 3 year old DD, housework, gardening, summer fun, and sewing when I can. In two weeks DD will be starting preschool. I am planning on getting more work done, items for sale in my shop, and more posts on my blog. We will see if my plans and reality become one! 😉
It is that wonderful time of year again, when Stoughton Coffee Break Fest is fast approaching. Â I am excited to announce that once again the giggleFritz and Co. booth will be in the Arts and Crafts Fair. Â This is a great festival with a coffee brew off between local Wisconsin coffee brewers, a 5k run, car show, arts and crafts fair and more! Â Did I mention you get to sample the coffee? For a small fee (something like $5) you get a coffee break mug to keep and take home. Use the mug to sample the coffee brewers’ coffee in the competition. After sampling the coffee, cast your vote for the best brewed coffee. Â There is something for everyone!
So, stop by the giggleFritz and Co. booth, say, “Hi”, and check out all of the lovely new things I’ve been making. I can’t wait to see you there!
I fully own my procrastination, lack of focus, and right out laziness of not getting things done.  I want so much to fill my shop with beautiful things I create, but I am not getting it done at the moment.  Wait, I take that back.  I own 99.5% of this.  The other 0.5% is the fault of this little girl, who steals and snuggles with the Socktopus I am working on.  😉
I have had that itch for the past few months. Â The, “I want to be in a craft fair” itch. Â The other day I received an email for the 2015 Coffee Break Fest Craft Fair in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Â As I was reading I automatically felt both excited and defeated at the same time. Â I would LOVE to be a part of Coffee Break Fest again, but I just don’t have the time or inventory to get there this year. Â It’s time to devise a better plan for the future of giggleFritz. Â Not only for my business, but for other areas in life as well. Â I am so done “winging it”. Â I used to be a decent planner. Â I had a binder for the holidays so everything would run smoothly and get done. Â I have binders (plural) for my business, but I haven’t contributed to them for a long time. Â I think it is time to dust off the binders and start contributing again.
Creative update: I haven’t worked on my lighthouse cross-stitch for a while, but I have done SOME work since my last creative update (Feb 18, 2015). Â Here is my progress:
